HOW TO APPLY FOR A INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS PERMIT: STEP BY STEP

STEP 1

Start by filling out an application.

STEP 2

When you’ve filled in the application, make a copy of your Swedish drivers license, front and back, and have the copy witnessed by two people. For this to be valid, they have to sing their name, signature and personal numbers below.

STEP 3

Then attach a recently taken photograh of yourself.

If applying by mail: enclose a recently taken photograph of yoursef (3,5cm x 4,5 cm) on photopaper with your name on the back.

STEP 4

Send your application to us with either mail or e-mail.

Both addresses can be found at the bottom of the application form.

ISSUING AND DELIVERY

Once we have received your application and payment, issuing a permit can take up to 5 business days. In case of high pressure the handling time might increase since we prioritize by day of departure.

When a permit has been issued, we then send it back to you with A-post with PostNord to your mailbox. Note that holidays and weekends may delay the delivery of your International drivers permit.

We are also available for those who live in or near Malmö for scheduled personal visits only. To make an appointment call: 040-264 750. Payment can only be made by Swish.

Standard postage is included in our prices both in Sweden and abroad. We are also able to send your international drivers permit with traceable mail within Sweden for a cost of: 100 kr

GOOD TO KNOW

There are two types of international drivers permits: 1-year permits and 3-year permits. Specifications on which permit required varies between countries, but many countries accept both. USA and Japan are however examples of countries who only accept 1-year permits.

The period of validity for an international drivers permit can never exceed the period of your Swedish license.
